The Health Medical Record is also known by other names, including but not limited to, Medical Health Record, Personal Health record, electronic health record, and electronic medical record.

A major problem with the health medical record is that it is stored in paper format in many places such as doctors’ offices, hospitals, laboratories, etc. This causes errors in handling, reading, transcribing, writing prescriptions, filling prescriptions, to name a few.

A great solution is to have the record stored in digital format. Unfortunately, there are many hurdles to overcome to get this done. Government regulation is one of them. Another is the possibility of identity theft.
